YOGA VILLAGE
One day Yogi Manmoyanand was taking a leisurely walk down a narrow path that leads into a jungle. He was wondering about the forthcoming retreats and yoga programs that he had scheduled for the upcoming months. Not far from the warm, tropical beaches of North Goa, the path led him into a very secluded and shaded point in the jungle. The graceful silence was punctuated by the songs of beautiful birds, those who were returning home for the night. He stopped under the large canopy of a banyan tree. It was an old tree with a cave-like structure in its trunk. Something prompted him to sit down there and contemplate the beautiful sunset over the horizon of the Arabian Sea, which was in sight a few steps from where he was sitting. There was his answer. He knew he wouldn't find a better place that could support spiritual contemplation in this part of Goa.
Today a beautiful stage has been built under this same banyan tree for all those people who would want to be lost in contemplating their spiritual self. Clean, spacious cottages have been built in the jungle at all those points from where one can enjoy the breathtaking tropical sunset. Today the ashram has clean and comfortable accommodation for 20 guests with attached toilets and showers and other such amenities.
The ashram has a kitchen for the preparation of food under strict Ayurvedic specifications. Food is prepared on a day-to-day basis as per time, season and astrological conditions. Understanding the beautiful and profound nature of the ashram food is as tasteful as the food itself.
The ashram and its programs are designed to give the experience of a traditional gurukul, where seekers lived and pursued their spiritual quests. The ashram is meant for providing this serene, intellectual atmosphere.
